What are Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008?

Windows Server 2003 is an operating system for servers developed by Microsoft.  It was the newer version of Windows NT Server.  Windows 2003 Server was built on NT technology. The interface of the software is similar to that of Windows 2000.

It's gaining market share due to the ease of use.

 

Windows Server 2008 is the most recent release of Microsoft Windows Server line of operating systems.

It was released for manufacturing on February 4, 2008 and officially released on February, 27 2008, it is the successor to Windows Server 2003 (already mentioned above), which was released nearly five years earlier.

Much like Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 is built on the Windows NT 6.0 kernel.
