What is Shared Web Hosting?

This refers to a web hosting service where many websites reside on one web server connected to the Internet.

Each site "sits" on its own partition, or section/place on the server to keep it separated from other sites.

This is generally the most economical option for hosting because many people share the overall cost of server maintenance.

Although it is economical, it is more unstable, unpredictable and untrustworthy than other options because of the fact that you will be sharing the system with other users.

On the other hand, if you are not ready for a Virtual Private Server, don't worry too much.  At abdicar.com, we always keep an eye on our shared hosting servers.  Unfortunately, this does not protect you 100% from the activities or consumption of others.
